I've always been passionate—and maybe a little stubborn. It's a trait that has served me well throughout life, especially during some of my most difficult moments.
Today, I work full-time in healthcare, host multiple podcasts, and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
Like many survivors, I never imagined abuse would become part of my story. When I experienced domestic violence firsthand, I leaned heavily on the support of family and friends who helped me navigate one of the darkest chapters of my life. Along the way, many of them shared their own experiences with abuse, opening my eyes to just how common—and often hidden—these experiences truly are.
That realization sparked a passion for education, advocacy, and creating space for honest conversations.
In 2023, I launched a podcast called 1 in 3, inspired by the statistics surrounding intimate partner violence. As the podcast grew, so did its mission. Today, Beyond the Statistics explores not only domestic violence, but also sexual assault, human trafficking, trauma, healing, prevention, and the systems that impact survivors. Because while statistics help us understand the scope of abuse, understanding begins with stories.
Through conversations with survivors, loved ones, advocates, attorneys, therapists, healthcare professionals, researchers, law enforcement, authors, and other experts, my goal is to educate, encourage, and remind people that healing is possible—and that no one should have to walk this journey alone.
Healing looks different for everyone. For me, it has come through therapy, humor, music, faith, and connecting with others who understand. That's why you'll find resources throughout this website, along with conversations designed to educate, inspire hope, and create meaningful change.
💜 If you're here, I want you to know this: There is hope. Healing is possible. And wherever you are in your journey, you are not alone.
